Halloween

On Halloween I can feel normal again.
It's dusk.

Hundreds of kids run around in costumes.
Teenagers are covered in makeup and fake blood.
I can remember when the scars weren't real and the blood was still fake,
But on this one day I can blend in.

Nobody can see enough detail to doubt my stories.
The dusk hides my lies.

On the day when everybody else is pretending to be something that they are not, I can actually be myself.
Parading your children around with false identities taking candy from strangers is normal;
Battling inner demons however is not.
My everyday is Halloween.
